Crescent City Woman Charged With Attempted Murder Following Stabbing At The Legacy
A 55-year-old Crescent City woman faces an attempted murder charge and is accused of stabbing another woman in the head with a screwdriver at the Legacy.
Sandra Montoya, also known as Sandy Jean Riley, allegedly stabbed the victim during an argument at the county’s permanent supportive housing facility at 665 L Street, Crescent City Police Chief Richard Griffin told the Wild Rivers Outpost on Tuesday. The incident took place at about 10 p.m. Saturday, Griffin said.
The victim was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital where she was treated and released, according to the police chief.
In addition to attempted murder and battery with serious bodily injury, Montoya is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Griffin, Montoya was allegedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.
Montoya was booked into the Del Norte County Jail and is being held on $250,000 bond.
