KCIW Wins Edward R. Murrow Award For Its 'Corruption in Curry County?' Documentary
From KCIW:
KCIW’s documentary report “Corruption in Curry County?” has been honored with the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for reporting excellence.
The Murrow Awards are among the most respected journalism awards in the world, and to have a small, community radio station like KCIW recognized for its news effort is a very big deal. It is the only all-volunteer, member supported, community radio station in its category to win, and as a regional winner, KCIW will automatically move ahead to compete in the national round of the competition.
KCIW Board President Rose Weiss says winning a Murrow is a huge win for such a small, low power station. “I am thrilled that our hard-working News Department and our very talented News Director have been recognized for their important work informing our listeners. Congratulations to News Director Lori Gallo-Stoddard and to everyone who volunteers their time to our News Department.”
The Murrow Awards are the embodiment of the values, principles and standards set forth by Edward R. Murrow, a journalism pioneer who set the standards for the highest quality of broadcast journalism.
