The Del Norte County District Attorney's Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that took place on Bertsch Avenue between 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, according to Del Norte County Sheriff's Lt. Daniel Schneck.

Schneck, who declined to give further details, told the Wild Rivers Outpost on Monday afternoon the investigation by the District Attorney's Office is "standard protocol."

District Attorney Katherine Micks could not be reached for comment.
