CCPD, Family Seek Help Finding Missing Teen
The Crescent City Police Department is asking the public to call county dispatch if they see 14-year-old September Merati, who left home early Friday morning.
Merati is considered a voluntary runaway, CCPD Chief Richard Griffin told the Wild Rivers Outpost. A notice from her family circulating Facebook is asking people to call 911 if they see her, which they should do if they think Merati is in danger, Griffin said, but it's more appropriate to call dispatch at (707) 464-4191.
Merati left her home on the 300 block of 5th Street at about 1:45 a.m. Friday. She is about 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 112 pounds and was wearing a black and gray sweatshirt, black pants, a gray backpack and was seen carrying a large stuffed animal.
Merati was last seen heading north on Huntington Street, according to the CCPD.
The public can also email Griffin at rgriffin@crescentcity.org or connect with him via Facebook if they see Merati.
People can also call Denise Johnson, Merati's grandmother, at (760) 218-8780, or Jessyca Merati, Merati's mother, at (760) 677-1041.
