CCPD Seizes Meth Pipe, Converted Flare Gun, Stolen Property From Big 5 and Other Stores

From the Crescent City Police Department:

On 7-20-22 at about 1800 hours an employee called in a report of shoplifting in progress at Big 5 in Crescent City.

Upon arrival in the area Crescent City Police Department Officer Pearson, Sgt. Lopez, and Lt. Kai located the suspect’s vehicle at Starbucks, with further assistance from a citizen who also witnessed the original theft.

During an interview Lt. Kai was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded stolen property from Big 5 and another recent shoplifting incident from another store. Officers also located a methamphetamine pipe and a flare gun that had been converted to fire .32 caliber auto handgun ammunition.

Tabetha Rhodes, (age 32) from Crescent City, was arrested for 459.5 PC, shoplifting, and 1203.2 PC, Failure to comply with conditions of Probation.

Gerald Dollarhide, (age 46) from Medford, Oregon, was arrested for 496 (a) PC possession of stolen property, 33600 PC possession of zip gun, 29800 PC, felon/prohibited person in possession of a firearm, 30305 PC felon/prohibited person in possession of ammunition.

Dollarhide and Rhodes were transported and booked into the Del Norte County Jail.

Rhodes was released from the Del Norte County Jail at about 8:06 p.m. Wednesday.

Dollarhide was released from the Del Norte County Jail on Saturday, according to the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office's Online Information System.
