Man Dies After Being Swept Off the Jetty in Crescent City, Police Say
Crescent City Police Department:
Today at about 12:15 p.m., officers from the Crescent City Police Department were dispatched to the jetty for a report of a male subject who was swept off the jetty by a wave.
Members of the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office also responded to the location and took over the incident as it turned into a search and rescue incident.
The male subject was recovered from the water and transported to the Big Boat Basin as life saving measures began. Ultimately the subject was not revived.
The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
