From a Public Health Branch news release:
Del Norte County—In light of the impact of COVID-19 on youth programs in the community, Del Norte agencies, including the City of Crescent City, Del Norte County School District, Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and over a dozen other organizations, are hosting a Summer Youth Fair at the Park for persons age 12 to 24, featuring a vaccination site.
This multifaceted event focuses on school readiness, and will host fun games, booths, and activities, in addition to providing youth development, career, and education information.
With the emergence of the more transmissible Delta variant, there is a renewed urgency to get all eligible Californians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Del Norte County DHHS will have COVID-19 vaccines available for individuals 12 and older, as well as COVID-19 testing and health education provided by public health nurses and Optum Serve Staff.
Public health officials are reminding unvaccinated Californians that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe, free, and provides excellent protection from severe COVID-19, its variants, hospitalization, and death.
Public Health Staff will be on-site and available for interviews on Saturday, July 31 from 9:30-10. Please contact Melody to RSVP for a slot during that window. For more information, contact the Coastal Connections Youth Center at (707) 464-3060, or visit facebook.com/dncpublichealth.
