New Del Norte County supervisors Darrin Short and Valerie Starkey, along with Bob Berkowitz, took the oath of office on Monday.

Del Norte County Judge Darren McElfresh administered the oath of office to the newly-elected officials with their colleagues Gerry Hemmingsen and Chris Howard looking on.

Short succeeds Roger Gitlin as the District 1 supervisor. Starkey will take over the District 2 supervisor seat vacated by Lori Cowan and Berkowitz is beginning his second term as District 5 representative.
