Someone Swiped a Trailer Belonging to the Del Norte High School Music Department Last Week

Crescent City police officers are investigating the theft of the Cargo Mate trailer that belonged to the Del Norte High School Music Department.

Band director Dan Sedgwick said he noticed that the trailer was missing last week, speculating that it may have been taken from the high school some time during the evening of Dec. 14 or the morning of Dec. 15.

The trailer that was taken was one of three that belongs to the band, according to Sedgwick. He said it was purchased before he began teaching at Del Norte High School and is about 20 years old.

For hauling things, Sedgwick said, it’s invaluable to the high school’s music department.

“I’m not even sure if it’s in the county or not,” he told the Wild Rivers Outpost. “It’s been almost a week, or five days, we’ll see what happens.”

Crescent City Police Chief Richard Griffin said the theft was reported to his department on Monday.

“We’re checking video camera footage and doing some follow up on that,” he told the Outpost.
