Strong southerly winds are expected to hit coastal areas of Del Norte County tonight.

Eureka's National Weather Service office says that 50-mph gusts will be possible in Crescent City and in higher-elevation areas of Humboldt County.

"Gusty winds will make driving difficult," the NWS stated in a weather update this morning. "Secure loose objects that may get blown around by the wind."

Heavy snow will also be possible in the Trinity Mountains until Tuesday.
