After seven years working as the Principal for the Del Norte County Office of Education, Rob Parker notified the COE on January 15^th of his intent to retire as of June 30, 2020.  Rob has been responsible for Community, Elk Creek, and Bar-O schools, reorganizing the SARB process, coordinating career and technical education efforts with the COE, and greatly increasing graduation rates within the COE schools.  His expertise and service will be missed.

Once the intent to retire was received, the COE opened the application process for the 2020-2021 vacancy and held interviews on February 3^rd and 4^th.  We are pleased to announce that, after interviewing several highly qualified candidates, Randy Fugate was selected to assume the role of County Office Principal.  As a result of this move, the District will be working with stakeholders, including staff, parents, students, site administration, and the Board of Trustees, to develop a list of desired attributes, which will be incorporated into the search process for the next Principal of Del Norte High School.  We anticipate the input should be finalized by February 19^th, with applications due by March 15^th, with interviews to follow.  Our goal is to be able to announce the new principal before spring break.
