(UPDATE) One Hospitalized With Critical Injuries From Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 South of Wonder Stump Road
UPDATE, 5 p.m.:
A Statement From the Fort Dick Fire Department:
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Fort Dick Fire was dispatched with the CHP, Del Norte Ambulance, CalFire, and one ambulance from CalOre for an injury accident involving three vehicles on Highway 101 at Arrowhead Drive.
There was one critical injury, two moderate injuries, and two minor injuries as a result of the collision. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the CHP.
Highway 101 was closed for a short time and traffic both north and south were delayed while paramedics, firefighters, and law enforcement treated the patients and then cleared the roadway.
Please remember to stay off of your cell phones while traveling through an emergency scene and to pay attention to the directions of the personnel directing traffic at the scene of any incident.

Major injuries have been reported as a result of the crash.

A three-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Tundra and two SUVs is blocking both lanes of traffic on Highway 101 south of Wonder Stump Road.
According to the CHP incident report, the crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m., causing major damage to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics have been dispatched to the scene and are actively evaluating the patients.
