Major-Injury Crash on Highway 101 in Smith River
At least two people were hospitalized with major injuries following a two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and an SUV on Highway 101 in Smith River this afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol Incident report, the crash occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m., north of the Highway 101-Shoreline Drive intersection.
One of the vehicles reportedly overturned as a result of the crash, pinning the driver inside.
The northbound side of the highway was closed for approximately 15 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
