DN Association of Realtors Candidate Forum Set
Del Norte County voters will have a chance to hear from candidates running for the Districts 2 and 5 supervisor seats and the superior court judge seat on Friday.
The Del Norte Association of Realtors will host a forum and all the candidates have committed to being there, said DNAOR board member Robin Hartwick. Residents also have until Wednesday to email questions to DNAORoffice@gmail.com, Hartwick said.
The candidates for District 2 supervisor include incumbent Valerie Starkey and challenger Rivers Drown.
For District 5, incumbent Dean Wilson faces challengers Linda Sutter and Heather Polen.
Meanwhile candidates for Del Norte County Superior Court Judge include Karen Olson and Keith Morris. They are vying to replace the seat currently held by Robert Cochran.
Folks will also be able to hear from Assembly candidate Michael Greer. A current member of the Del Norte County Board of Trustees, Greer is the only Republican among seven candidates hoping to replace Jim Wood for California’s 2nd Assembly District.
“We won’t have a forum for that group, but since he’s a local candidate we’ll give him a minute to address the floor,” Hartwick told the Outpost.
DNAOR President Dave Powell and Director Taudine Andrew will speak about the Del Norte Association of Realtors and what it’s done during the previous year, Hartwick said.
The candidates forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Masonic Lodge, 250 9th Street in Crescent City. The forum will also be streamed live on the Del Norte Association of Realtors’ Facebook page.
