Reconnect With Your State Parks: Celebration At Jed Smith Today And Tolowa Dunes Saturday

EUREKA, Calif. — California State Parks North Coast Redwoods District will be celebrating the 2nd annual CA State Parks Week June 14th – June 18th with multiple events held in several state parks throughout the District. These events are hosted in partnership with Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, and multiple community groups and organizations including Redwood Parks Conservancy, Save the Redwoods League, California State Parks Foundation, and more.
Wed June 14th:
Tvmchaame' Day: A Celebration of Our Parks, Our Community and Our Watershed. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park Day-use area. 2-4pm.
Thurs June 15th:
Guided Forest Meditation Walk: Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park at Simpson Reed Trail. 10am.Guided Morning Stretch and Flow: Humboldt Redwoods State Park at Dyerville Overlook. 10am.
Friday June 16th:
Connect to Your State Parks: Fort Humboldt State Historic Park. 10am-3pm.Climate Resiliency Through Restoration in the Redwoods: North Coast Redwoods District Facebook Livestream. 1pm.
Saturday June 17th:
Cultural Hike and Traditional Salmon Feed with Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation: Tolowa Dunes State Park at Sand Hill day-use area. 9am-12pm.Celebrate Yurok Community and Culture at Sue-meg State Park: Sue-meg State Park at Sue-meg Village. 3pm-5pm.
Sunday June 18th:
Rooting Out Invasive Plants Volunteer Work Day: Trinidad State Beach. 9am-1pm.
These events are an opportunity for local community and visitors from across the state and country to connect with California State Parks in new and unique ways.
California State Parks Week will be held June 14-18, 2023. Presented by California State Parks, Save the Redwoods League, Parks California and California State Parks Foundation, this event celebrates California’s 280 state parks and the people who visit and help protect these iconic places.
