From Restful Havens to Food Producers, Tour Five Del Norte Gardens With Habitat for Humanity on Sunday
(Updated at 9:44 a.m.: Raffle winners don't need to be present to win.)
Del Norte Habitat for Humanity is holding its annual garden tour to raise money for its sixth home on Sunday.
Habitat for Humanity broke ground on the four bedroom Nickel Avenue home near Crescent City in May. This home will house Bridget and Diego Wison, who, along with their five kids, local board members, officials and neighbors made the first dig for the foundation on May 21, according to a May 11 email from Karen Brohmer.
On Sunday, people may visit the gardens in any order and fill out a free raffle ticket for a gift provided by the organization's sponsors. The raffle drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Linda and David Langlois' garden. People need not be present to win.
Tickets are $20 each and are available at Johnston's Gift Garden Home, Del Norte Office Supply, Habitat for Humanity board members or the gardens on the day of the event.
For more information, call Garden Tour Coordinator Ruth York at (707) 458-3205.
