A slide just south of Last Chance Grade, along with a large tree that’s concerning Caltrans crews, has shuttered U.S. 101 in both directions.

A tree crew is en route to the scene, but the agency doesn’t feel it’s safe to open the highway currently, Caltrans spokesman Manny Machado told the Outpost.

The highway closed at about 10 a.m. Friday. There is currently no estimated time of reopening, Machado said.
