Large Item Dump Day is Coming to Crescent City


From Caltrans District 1:

CRESCENT CITY – Caltrans, Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority, and Hambro Waste Solutions Group will host a free large item Dump Day. This Dump Day event is part of Governor Newsom’s $1.2 billion Clean California initiative which makes this event, and other litter prevention and educational events occurring throughout the state, possible. Residents are encouraged to properly dispose of their unwanted, bulky items.

What: Free Large Item Dump Day

When: Saturday, November 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until capacity is reached

Where: Drop off large items at the Del Norte County Transfer Station, 1700 State Street. Drop off mattresses at Humboldt Moving & Storage, 1528 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City.  

This Dump Day collection is limited to 6 large items per trip. Residents can dispose of furniture, appliances, mattresses (limit 6 per load), tires (limit 9 per load), and other large, bulky household items. No construction materials, business waste, green/yard waste, electronics, hazardous waste, treated wood waste, or asbestos of any type will be accepted. Clean California Dump Days are open to all residents in the area.

This is part of a series of Dump Day events planned for Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino Counties. Future nearby events include the Rio Dell area. Please remember to secure your load.

Dump Day events are organized to further the Department’s goal of keeping California highways and waterways litter-free as part of the Clean California Initiative.
