Del Norte, Curry Christmas Concerts and Parades Abound This Holiday Season

Del Norte and Curry counties will continue to celebrate the holiday season over the next two weeks with parades, Christmas tree lightings and concerts.

The festivities will kick off with the Christmas Light Parade and tree lighting in Downtown Crescent City on Friday. Businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to participate, though parade organizers are asking for no Santa entries. Horse groups need their own clean-up crews as well. Judges will present awards to the best parade floats.

The parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday along H Street in Downtown Crescent City. The parade line-up will start at 5 p.m. at 7th and G streets near the Crescent City Police Department. Musical celebrations will also take place with the Wild Rivers Symphony and Wind Ensemble presenting its winter concert series, “Winter Canyon,” starting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Elk Valley Rancheria Community Room, 2332 Howland Hill Road in Crescent City.

There will also be a performance in Brookings at 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1200 Easy Street.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Youth through grade 12 are free.

Tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City, Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings and at Gold Beach Books and Art Gallery in Gold Beach. Tickets can also be purchased at www.wildriverssymphony.org.

The North Coast Chorale and North Coast Youth Choir also presents their 2022 Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 at Crescent Elk Auditorium. General admission tickets are $10 and students and seniors are $8 and are available at the door.

Brookings will hold its annual Christmas Parade at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10. The parade route starts on Easy Street continues to Oak Street and Railroad Avenue and ends at 5th Street. Floats, walkers, carolers, animals and vehicles are welcome to participate.

The parade line-up starts at 4:30 p.m.
Following the parade, Santa and refreshments will be at the Event Center, 800 Chetco Avenue in Brookings.
