Philanthropists Nick and Lisa Rail to be Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshals
From the Crescent City-Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce:
Crescent City/Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce this year’s 4th of July theme of “Small Towns, Big Hearts” fits right in with the sentiments of this year’s Grand Marshals, Nick and Lisa Rail.
Nick and Lisa Rail have made a huge impact on our Del Norte County towns with their more than generous donations of musical instruments to our communities’ children through the school system. To date, they have donated 350 musical instruments to the Del Norte Unified School District to help our young community members learn and expand their love of music. It is actions such as these that make a positive difference in the lives of children and can set them on a new path.
Along with the musical instruments, the Rails have also donated approximately $180,000 for refurbishing Crescent Elk Middle School Auditorium. Join us at this year’s 4th of July parade in celebrating our Grand Marshals Nick and Lisa Rail.
The Chamber also reminds everyone that nominations are being accepted for this year’s 12 Hometown Heroes! Do you know someone who lives in Del Norte County who is worthy of this honor? Someone who has shown courage, strength, or honor through adversity. Someone who has helped others, either through their work or just because they care about those around them, nominate them! You can drop your nominations off to the Chamber of Commerce at 1001 Front Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 3:30 or email them to LouAnn R-Epperson at chamber@delnorte.org.
Be sure to include: Hero’s name, email, and phone number and why you think they deserve to be a Hometown Hero. Also please include your own: name, email and phone number. Nominations are due by May 27, 2022
