Crescent City Council Race Appears Uncontested; Here's Final Candidate Roster for Nov. 8
The Crescent City Council will likely remain unchanged after Nov. 8, according to County Clerk Recorder Alissia Northrup.
Isaiah Wright, the city’s current mayor pro tem, and Raymond Altman, who was appointed in early 2021 after Alex Campbell resigned amid perjury and election fraud allegations, are seeking two four year seats unopposed, Northrup told the Wild Rivers Outpost on Friday.
Long-time councilor, Blake Inscore, is seeking a two-year term on the City Council, Northrup said.
In the DNUSD Trustee Area 2 race, a second candidate has surfaced — retired attorney, Abbie Crist. Crist will run against College of the Redwoods professor Will Meriwether, according to the elections office.
The lineup for the Trustee Area 5 race has shrunk from four candidates to two with retired special education teacher, Michael Greer, running against Yurok Tribal Councilor Phillip Williams.
Trustee Area 1 incumbent Don McArthur is running for another term unopposed, according to Northrup.
Major local races on the General Election ballot include the Crescent City council, the Crescent City Harbor District and the Del Norte Unified School District Board of Trustees. Runoff elections will be held for Districts 4 and 5 on the county Board of Supervisors and voters will make a second decision on city and county sales tax measures they approved in 2020.
Harbor District candidates include incumbents Rick Shepherd and Gerhard Weber as well as Linda Sutter and Kevin Hendrick.
Del Norte County District 4 candidates include Joey Borges and Patti Adams.
For District 5, appointed supervisor, Susan Masten, will face retired sheriff Dean Wilson to keep the seat.
