Frontier Communications is working to address an ongoing landline phone and internet outage that has been dogging some Crescent City customers for much of the day Thursday.

According to company spokesman Javier Mendoza, field and network technicians are working to identify the cause and hope to restore service soon. He said a landslide in the area may be preventing field technicians from entering the area.

"We don't know what it is yet," he said at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday. "It's the network techs that have to look at it first to identify what's going on."
