Crescent City Police arrested a 36-year-old man who had allegedly forced his way into the victim's bedroom Wednesday afternoon and had them in a choke hold.
From a CCPD Facebook post:
On 5-5-2021 at about 1350 hours, Officers from the Crescent City Police Department responded to an address in the 500 Block of Pacific Avenue for a report of a physical altercation in progress. Upon arrival at the residence the involved parties had separated and CCPD Officers began an investigation into the reason behind the altercation. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Nicholas Webster (age 36) had forced his way into a bedroom that the victim was inside of. Webster and the victim were both residents of the same apartment.
Once inside the bedroom Webster then placed the victim in a chokehold and made statements about killing the victim. The victim began to lose consciousness and had trouble breathing, but was able to break the hold and get away from Webster. The victim was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital and received medical attention for their injuries sustained during the incident.
Webster was booked into the Del Norte County Jail for Attempted Murder, 664/187 PC. The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to the Del Norte County District Attorney's Office for review.
