Multiple Agencies Contain 2.5-acre Brush Fire in Klamath Glen

Crews from CalFire, Klamath, Crescent City and Fort Dick halted the spread of a brush fire near Trinity Way in the Klamath Glen area Wednesday.

At about 12:51 p.m., firefighters from the Klamath Fire Protection District and CalFire found the fire burning in grass and brush at a moderate rate of speed, driven by the wind, according to CalFire Division Chief Paul Savona. After receiving help from Crescent City Fire & Rescue and a water tender from Fort Dick Fire, crews were able to contain the blaze to roughly 2.5 acres in size, Savona said.

“There were no structures threatened and the cause is under investigation,” he said. “Forward progress stopped at about 1:40, so it took about an hour to stop the progress of the fire.”

Crews will remain at the scene for a few more hours, Savona said. He said Klamath Glen residents should expect to see fire resources in the area.
