With the resignation of Alex Campbell, the Crescent City Council is seeking a fifth member to fill that vacancy.
From a Crescent City news release Thursday:
The City of Crescent City is currently accepting applications for temporary appointment to the City Council. The temporary appointment will last until the general municipal election is held on November 1, 2022 to fill the remainder of the term (through November 2024). This vacancy will be appointed by the City Council. Applicants must reside within the city limits (Gov. Code § 349) and be 18 years of age or older, and a registered voter.
The City Council is comprised of a five-person board and is the sole legislative body of the City. Crescent City is a general law city and adheres to a Council-Manager form of government.

Regular City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month via Zoom at 5:00 p.m., however, there are often special meetings and workshops scheduled.
If you are interested in applying for the position of Council Member, please complete an application and supplemental questionnaire which can be picked up at City Hall, 377 J Street, Crescent City, CA, or downloaded here: 2021 Application for City Council.pdf . All applications must be turned in to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. March 26, 2021, at City Hall. If you submit your application on the deadline, please place your application in an envelope addressed to the City Clerk and place it in the Water Department’s drop box located outside at 377 J Street.
Approved applicants will be interviewed at a special meeting of the City Council on March 30, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Council may make a decision at the special meeting or may direct staff to place the matter on a future agenda for action.
