U.S. 101 at Last Chance Grade will be closed for about six days starting Sunday.

From a Caltrans District 1 Facebook post:

Travelers along U.S. 101 in Del Norte County, please be advised Caltrans will once again enact nighttime closures in the Last Chance Grade area south of Crescent City from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the night of Sunday, January 17 and concluding the morning of Saturday, January 23. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated through the closure if necessary. Traffic will also be permitted through the closure at least once per evening if possible. The weather-permitting work is necessary to bring up the existing roadway grade. Enacting these nighttime closures greatly reduces the amount of time crews will be in the area working on this particular project
