Del Norte COVID-19 Update: Six New Cases Reported To Public Health, One Hospitalized
A total of six new COVID-19 cases showed up in the Del Norte County community at large and among its incarcerated population, the Public Health Branch reported Monday.
One person is in the hospital, according to the Public Health Branch.
There are currently 39 active COVID-19 cases in Del Norte County with 25 new patients reported to Public Health in the last 14 days.
Del Norte County's incarcerated population also saw three new COVID-19 cases as of Monday.
At Pelican Bay State Prison, five inmates have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Population COVID-19 Tracking web page.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 190 cases have been reported among the county’s incarcerated individuals, according to the Public Health Branch.
Del Norte County as a whole has seen a total of 905 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last March, according to the Public Health Branch.
Del Norte County’s public health officer, Dr. Warren Rehwaldt is expected to give an update on COVID-19 activity in the community to the Board of Supervisors at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. County supervisors meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
