Crescent City Police Get Fancy New Tactical Gear That Will Make Them 'More Aerodynamic' in Foot Pursuits, Chief Says
The Crescent City Police Department added some new tactical gear to its uniforms this week.
CCPD Chief Richard Griffin announced on social media last night that officers have received brand new outer carry vests, which the Crescent City Council approved five months ago.
"The officers are excited to have the new addition to the uniform, along with the added health benefits of not having all that weight on their hips anymore," Cheif Griffin said. "They also assured me that it will make them more aerodynamic in any foot pursuits that they may be challenged with."

Sgt. Gill and Officer Sanders wanted to show off the new outer carry vests that finally arrived this week. The officers are excited to have the new addition to the uniform, along with the added health benefits of not having all that weight on their hips anymore. They also assured me that it will make them more aerodynamic in any foot pursuits that they may be challenged with.
I have now authorized the use of these outer carry vests in our uniform policy. Along with the benefits of keeping the officers healthier over the span of their careers, added identification panels will also allow the public to easily identify them as peace officers.
