New Nonprofit Plans Beach Cleanup for Saturday

A new nonprofit organization will introduce itself at a beach cleanup on Saturday.

Seven Angels Last Stop Services is seeking volunteers for the endeavor at South Beach, which will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Seven Angels Last Stop Services is new to Crescent City and Del Norte County. Its founders, Kristen Wilson and Louis Johnson, seek to start a transitional housing program locally, using refurbished trailers and wraparound services to get people off the street and into permanent shelter.

At a Crescent City Council meeting on March 2, Wilson and Johnson said each trailer would serve about four different families throughout the year. They said they’re working with Daphne Lambert at Del Norte Mission Possible and are reaching out to others in the community that could help them get their program off the ground.

The beach cleanup is sponsored by Walmart, the Dollar Tree, the Mail Room, Crescent Ace Hardware, Sutton Enterprise, Subway North, Bicoastal Media and Warrior MMA. For more information, call Kristen Wilson at (833) 726-4359 or Jacob Hurley at (707) 954-0406.
