Press release from the Crescent City Fire Protection District:

For residents in the Crescent Fire Protection District, if you receive a text or email that tells you that Crescent Fire Protection District is polling, and Chief Bill Gillespie’s name is attached, the fire District HAS HIRED A RESEARCH FIRM WHO IS CONDUCTING POLLING ON BEHALF OF THE FIRE DISTRICT. Polling is being coordinated through the firm Godbe Research. Polling began Tuesday, February 18th.

Polling may come to you by telephone, email, and/or text.

Crescent Fire Protection District is one of the parent agencies for Crescent City Fire & Rescue (City of Crescent City is the other parent agency), your local volunteer fire department serving the greater Crescent City area. This polling is part of the “Phase 2” process in conjunction with the 10-year fire department master plan approved by the Crescent Fire Protection District Board and Crescent City Council on November 21, 2019.

As part of “Phase 2,” it was desired to poll our community members residing within the Crescent Fire Protection District jurisdiction regarding your volunteer fire department, response, equipment, apparatus, training, and other critical future needs as your volunteer fire department continues to serve in our community. In 2019 your volunteers with Crescent City Fire & Rescue were called out 1,968 times to emergencies in the greater Crescent City area. We hope that you will participate and assist us with vital information collection!
