Dead, 40-Foot Gray Whale Washes Ashore Near Del Norte County Airport

A dead, 40-foot-long gray whale has washed up on the beach north of the Del Norte County Regional Airport.
Humboldt State University whale expert Dawn Goley told the Outpost that she and her team examined the female whale yesterday.
"It was in an advanced state of decomposition and we could not determine [its] cause of death," Goley said.
