Since recycling is considered an essential service, Hambro WSG will accept people's bottles and cans again starting May 1.

From a company news release:

Recycling operations have been determined to be an essential operation. With strict social distancing guidelines, face covering requirements and special hours for senior citizens the Hambro Recycling Center will resume recycling operations May 1, 2020. The recycling center is located at 445 Elk Valley Road. If one is feeling symptoms of COVID 19 or has been around a person with the virus, please postpone your visit.

The center will be open Wednesday through Saturday. Normal hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Special hours will be available exclusively for senior citizens each day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The company is preparing plans to reduce the concentration of its customers by allocating prep spaces for sorting material for processing. Additional signage will be posted. The designated areas will allow a safe distance between customers and promote the orderly flow of the redemption process. To assist in the efficient processing pre-sorting of aluminum, plastic, and glass material prior too arrival is advised.

Operations will be monitored and observed by staff and management. In order to continue to operate the facility it will be mandatory that all rules and guidelines be observed and followed. The ordinary work force will be augmented to assist spacing and rule compliance. If Hambro is to continue this operation it is essential that we have cooperation and buy-in from all customers.
