Triplicate Newspaper Burgled; Computers, Electronics Stolen
Police are searching for a suspect who stole several Macintosh computers and two laptops from the Del Norte Triplicate overnight Sunday and Monday.
Employees arrived at the newspaper at 312 H Street at about 7:50 a.m. Monday to discover a broken window, said Crescent City Police Sgt. Ed Wilson.
Though he said the report was incomplete, Wilson told the Wild Rivers Outpost that a broken window appears to have been the point of entry, while the suspect left via a door to the building.
A Triplicate employee confirmed on Wednesday that its iMacs were stolen along with a MacBook and a second laptop computer.
Despite this incident, Wilson told the Outpost that CCPD hasn’t seen an increase in burglaries “beyond the usual pattern.”
