DEADLINE: Oct. 25.

The holidays are right around the corner, and every holiday season there are many adults, children and families in Curry and Del Norte counties in need of food, warm clothing and access to services. That’s why Wild Rivers Community Foundation is offering its annual Holiday Partnership grants to support nonprofits and faith-based organizations that tirelessly provide hope by addressing the needs of our friends and neighbors throughout the Wild Rivers Region.

The deadline for WRCF’s Holiday Partnership grant applications is 5 p.m., Oct. 18, 2019. Applications are available online at bit.ly/holidaypartnership, or can be picked up at the WRCF office, 990 Front St, Crescent City.

The completed applications can be dropped off at the office or emailed to smilunich@wildriverscf.org. For more information call 707-465-1238 or 541-412-6277.

“There are amazing organizations in Curry and Del Norte County filled with passionate staff and volunteers who work hard to provide everything from community meals, presents, warm blankets, emergency clothing and even hygiene products,” said WRCF Director Gina Zottola. “Holiday Partnership grants provide much needed resources to organizations so that they can accomplish their mission to help those in need during the holidays.”

In 2018, WRCF awarded $24,000 to 26 nonprofit organizations. The grants, ranging from $250 to $2,000, funded programs that provide children with winter coats or Christmas presents, holiday food for hungry families, warm clothes for struggling veterans and the homeless, and services for abused or neglected children.

“The collaborative partnership of donors creates a pool of resources that support the good work these organizations are doing in our community,” Zottola said.

The grants are funded by donations from family trusts, foundations, businesses and individuals, according to Zottola, but additional donations are always appreciated.

Previous donors include the Brattain Family Trust; the Dale & Jo Ann Thomas Charitable Fund; the John G. Atkins Foundation; Pacific Power; Red Sky Roofing; Patricia D. & William B. Smullin Foundation; St. Joseph’s Health System Humboldt; South Fork/Big Flat Endowment Fund; R. Baird & Jane Rumiano Family Fund; Gordon Elwood Foundation and the Gil & Ann H. Hess Memorial Fund.

The Wild Rivers Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Humboldt Area Foundation and serves Del Norte and Curry counties. For more information, call 707-465-1238 or 541-412-6277 or visit wildriverscf.org.
