Snow and Rain Forecast for Tuesday; National Weather Service Warns That Driving Conditions Will Be Dangerous

Expect dangerous driving conditions for the busy Thanksgiving travel week.

Medford’s National Weather Service office reports that rain, mountain snow and strong winds are forecast for areas of Northen Califonria and Southern Oregon starting Tuesday.

Mountain ranges in Del Norte County and Central Oregon are expected to receive up to 18 inches of snow.

"Tuesday is shaping up to be a very bad day for traveling over mountain passes," Medford's National Weather Service office reported on Facebook this morning.

Drivers taking Highway 199 should should have snow chains handy.

Coastal areas, meanwhile, can expect rain and 10-mph winds.

These weather conditions will likely diminish by Wednesday evening.
