Long-Time Azalea Festival Parade Organizer Named This Year's Grand Marshal

Dianne Rettke

From the City of Brookings:

Dianne Rettke named Grand Marshal of the 2023 Azalea Festival. Dianne has been spearheading the Azalea Festival Parade for the past 13 years. She has been a resident of Brookings since 1988 and recently retired from Pacific Coast Alternatives.   After moving to Brookings, she worked for Eldon Gossett at Coldwell Banker Brookings Land and Townsite in the Historic Central Building, and then later for Yvonne Dunn Premier Properties.

In 2007 she started Pacific Coast Alternatives with Don Tilton, which she continued to operate until she retired in 2021. When Tilton passed away, she took over the business, as well as his positions with Nature’s Coastal Holiday and the Azalea Festival Parade.   Dianne continued to spend many hours over the years volunteering with the Azalea Festival, Nature’s Coastal Holiday, and was active at First Baptist Church with the AWANA program and youth group for over 15 years.

Diana is married to Tim Rettke, City of Brookings Public Works Supervisor, who also has been very involved in the Azalea Festival parade since 2003. In addition to spending time with Tim and their dog Maverick, Dianne also enjoys golfing, friends, and Oregon Ducks football!
