Agness Road Reopened to One-Way Traffic After Landslide

A landslide that completely shut down Agness Road overnight, five miles north of Lobster Creek Road near Skookum House Canyon, has been partially cleared, officials say.

Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest spokesperson Chamise Kramer told the Outpost that enough of the slide was removed today to allow for one-way traffic control.

Kramer said that the slide is expected to be completely cleared from the roadway by tomorrow afternoon. Drivers can currently expect 15-minute delays.

About 28 customers were without power this morning, after the landslide blocked Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative crews from reaching the affected areas for several hours. The cause of the outage was unrelated to the slide. According to the cooperative’s outage map, power has since been restored.
