From the Del Norte County Public Health Branch:

There have been some changes to masking requirements in California. Our local masking mandate is no longer in effect as of February 16, 2022, though Del Norte County was still under the statewide mandates.

Beginning March 1, 2022, the statewide indoor mask mandate for unvaccinated individuals is no longer in effect. Masks are still required by everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in the following indoor settings: Public transit, healthcare settings, emergency shelters, correctional facilities, homeless shelters,
and long-term care facilities.

Beginning March 12, 2022, the statewide masking requirements for both K-12 settings and childcare settings will also come to an end. Masks and testing are still recommended for both children and staff after the mandate is lifted.

Our goal at Del Norte County Public Health has always been to keep our community safe and healthy.

We know masks aren’t always comfortable, but to keep our county safe, we continue to recommend masking, especially in times of high transmission in our community.
