CCPD Arrests Subject On Suspicion of Brandishing a Knife; Officer Held Him At Gunpoint Briefly

From a Crescent City Police Department Facebook post:

On 3-17-2022 at about 1300 hours the Crescent City Police Department responded to the area known as Cooper Hill after a report of a male subject brandishing a knife towards motorists came into dispatch. Upon arrival in the area CCPD Officer Sanders located Frank Gist (age 32) still holding a knife and brandishing it towards people.
 
Officer Sanders held Gist at gunpoint until he dropped the knife on the ground several feet away. Officer Sanders transitioned to his department issued TASER and worked with other responding Officers from CCPD, DNSO, and CHP to take Gist into custody without incident. Gist was arrested for brandishing a weapon, 417 PC, and threatening/Dissuading a witness 136.1 PC. Gist was then booked in the Del Norte County Jail.
