Water Line Break in Brookings' Marina Heights Neighborhood Causes Service Interruptions

From a Brookings news release Thursday:

Due to a water line break in the Marina Heights area water service in the area of Marina Heights Road, Marina Heights Loop, Rivera Court and some houses on Marine Drive will be off for an estimated 4-6 hours while repairs are being made.

For those residents affected, once your water is resumed your tap water may be contaminated and we advise you to boil your drinking water until we are able to confirm no contamination occurred. To boil your tap water bring all water to a rolling boil for one minute. Let it cool before using. You should use boiled or purchased bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The City of Brookings Public Works Department is working to repair the problem and appreciates the patience of residents and businesses until this work is completed.
