Four New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Curry County


Press release from the Curry County Public Health Administrator:

Curry County Public Health (CCPH) received notification of four new cases of Covid-19, three of these cases are related to each other and the fourth is unrelated. All four cases have been verified and confirmed by the Health Officer after receiving the lab results.

CCPH was notified around midnight by two south county residents of positive results for Covid-19. Curry Health Network notified CCPH this morning of a South Curry County resident who is related to one of the first two reported cases and a Central Curry County resident who tested positive for Covid-19.

CCPH has been in contact with all four Curry County residents and they are isolating at home and monitoring symptoms. CCPH is currently investigating the cases to identify any possible contacts and exposures relevant to the case. CCPH will reach out through contact tracing to anyone suspected of exposure to COVID-19 in these cases.

As of November 1st , 2020, at 2:00 p.m., the total verified number of positive cases for Curry County residents since the start of the pandemic is 66, with currently 11 active cases and two deaths.

Please remember, it is important that we all follow the OHA and CDC guidelines and Governor’s directives about social distancing, wearing facial coverings in public buildings and protecting yourselves by staying home to slow the spread and save lives.

CCPH will continue to keep the public informed with all the information we can in order to keep our citizens safe.
