Crescent City's annual Relay for Life will be a virtual event due to the COVID-19 emergency.

The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be held from 6 p.m. July 17 to 6 p.m. July 18. From the event committee on Monday:

Relay for Life of Crescent City 2020 has been changed to a virtual event due to COVID 19. The majority of our survivors are immune compromised individuals. Public Health mandates no mass gatherings be held through summer. The Relay for Life of Crescent City committee has decided that in lieu of the event being held at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds on July 17th from 6 PM to July 18th at 6 PM the Relay for Life of Crescent City will be held as a virtual event. Survivor packets will also be delivered or available for pickup.

Relay for Life Chairperson Chelsea Sanyaolu, Co-Chair Devon Matheny and the entire Event Committee want the survivors to know that we are still here and we can't wait to celebrate you. Please check our Facebook page to learn more as the event gets closer. Donations or luminarias can be made for this event at relayforlife.org/crescentcity. Please stay tuned and stay safe!
