Two People Found Dead After Reported Shooting in Crescent City, Sheriff's Office Says

Del Norte County Sheriff's Office press release:

This morning at about 9:30 a.m. the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office responded to the 100 block of Turnbull Lane in Crescent City for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived minutes later and secured the scene with the help of the California Highway Patrol.

An adult male and an adult female, both in their 50s, were found deceased at the residence. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Del Norte County District Attorney's Office and the Eureka Department of Justice crime lab.

Early stages of the investigation have revealed that the two deceased people did not live in the house that they were found in although the male did live on the property. Statements and evidence are indicating that the two deceased people forced their way into the residence along with their dog and assaulted the two people that were occupying the residence.

No arrests have been made and the evidence will continue to be processed. The two people that were occupying the residence are cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
