Three crew members were rescued from a capsized fishing boat that became pinned against the North Jetty of the Coos Bay Harbor Entrance last night.

North Bay Fire District Chief James Aldrich said that the 38-foot fishing boat Pacific Miner flipped completely upside down in the 10-foot surf, trapping the three crew members inside.

U.S. Coast Guard Station Coos Bay and U.S. Coast Guard Sector North Bend were the first to respond to the incident after the boat's distress signal was reportedly tripped by incoming water at 6:15 p.m.

All three crew members were initially reported missing, but firefighters heard cries for help coming from inside the overturned boat when they arrived on scene.

"While searching for victims on the North Jetty, firefighters heard screaming from the wreckage," NBFD Chief James Aldrich said in a press release. "Firefighters made their way to the boat and the crew of three were still trapped inside the vessel."

Firefighters were able to rescue all three crew members by cutting a hole in the boat. The crew was given medical attention on scene and was later taken to the hospital.

The rescue was captured by Rob Gensorek of Basin Tackle Charleston. Gensorek's videos have been embeded at the top and bottom of this story.
